We’d like to give a big shout out to Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation and its SPI Grant. It has afforded us the opportunity to purchase some amazing new equipment from SA Sport which arrived today! We are so excited to get our athletes using our snazy new stuff!

Thank you so much, its support like this that helps to make Altadore what it is!

Sunday, February 12th is the 5th annual Carnival Day at Altadore! From 11am-2pm come on down and have some fun with us!

Tickets are $15/child or three tickets for $30. Parents get to play along for free!

Help us promote Carnival Day! Share our Carnival Day Event on your Facebook page or write something about Carnival Day in your status and get your name entered to win a $50 Visa Gift Card! Gymnathon has been postponed until further notice.

AGC will be keeping the Recreational Schedule the same, therefore there will still be NO scheduled Classes on November 19th.

AGC is looking to fill our now open Recreational Director Position

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Recreational Director will lead the Recreational Program, classes and programs for ages 6 and over, programming and development of the Recreational Program in accordance with the club’s Vision, Mission and Goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Level 2 Coaching Certificate

• Minimum 5 years experience working with children

• Good leadership and communication skills

• Possess excellent knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastic safety

• Posses a valid First Aid certificate

• Compassionate, caring individual who enjoys working with children

JOB DESCRIPTION – For the purpose of this position the Recreational Director will be in charge of programs for children ages 6 and over.

• Responsible in the facilitation of recreation program

• Responsible for hiring and allocating classes to coaches

• Responsible for planning and implementing special events of Gymnathon and Rec Rock

• Responsible for reviewing recreation report cards and attaching appropriate badges

• Responsible for tracking levels of the recreation athletes

• Responsible for planning of the recreation sessions

• Responsible in the planning and supervision of the Summer Staff

• Supervise and evaluate all coaches working with the recreation program.

• Ensure the gym and equipment is safe, organized and clean, maintenance and housekeeping needs repaired, reported and/or delegated as needed

• Ongoing liaison with staff, and recreation parents, keeping them informed of new club initiatives, special events, and programs.

• Budget responsibilities for your program, as assigned

• Organize Recreational Summer Camps and Staff

• Monitor, and submit AGF Recreational Registrations

• Organize all User Group and Birthdays

WAGE: Will be discussed at time of hiring

HOURS: Monday – Thursday 12:30-8:30, Saturday 8:30-2:30
